Kenya pictures that I gone and done

Some photos I took over the past few days

A Short Tour

This is our table for working/eating of things.
The Hallway. The room way at the end on the right is mine.
 Kitchen
This is the sign on our bathroom door...
Smoking/Laundry area. There's also another shower and bathroom on the right. The ones that look like metal sheds.
Common area. That's a karrom board in the middle. Don't remember if I explained this before or not. It's like a cross between pool and checkers.

Andrea painted a Colobus monkey and an infant onto the wall during the week. Adding to the tree we painted before, we've pictues of loads of birds aswell now.

Animals and such

This is a female Red-legged Golden orb-web spider we bumped into yesterday.
Dunno how well the size comes off in the pictures but for comparison it's about the size of my hand.
Some sort of stalks on the beach.
There were buckets of Colobus monkeys out today.
I took loads of photos so I'll just put up a few of the ones I like best.
Saw another ones of these guys today. Not as big, but still huge compared to other spiders. The golden web it spins looks amazing in the sunlight. The photos don't do it justice at all.
This little fella is a MALE Red-legged Golden orb-web spider. The females have a body mass up to 1000 times bigger than that of the males. The difference in size is unbelieveable.
This is The Lonely Door. Literally no other structures for about 10 mins in either direction. *Also contains portal to Narnia.
I think this is the nest of some species of sunbird. Didn't catch sight of it while we were there though.
White-headed dwarf day gecko. These guys, along with Yellow-headed dwarf day geckos, always hang around on the trees outside the house but they're really fast and scare easily so it can be difficult to get a photo.
I believe this to be some sort of butterfly.
 Crowned hornbills.
 Another Colobus.
We walked to Kibiyuni today instead of doing forest surveys. The trash situation there is far worse than in Shimoni. A lot of animals like this hen and her chicks try to eat it.
Caught these two crabs mating. I dunno why but I find this sequence of photos really funny.

A buffalo spider, although I think technically their called kite spiders. They're really colourful and you see them all the time in the forest.
On the way back from Kibiyuni, I checked back in on the orb spider. I'm fairly sure that's a buffalo spider it's ripped to shreds there.
Havn't been able to identify this one yet but it looks pretty cool.

That's all for now.
Laters!

Are you the same guy who ran around the back garden with a wasp buzzing in your ear!, ha I'm so impressed. The piece de resistance is the toilet notice, quite frankly I think it's a work of genius!!,! I'm with Paula on the bananas! Looking forward to hearing about the forest studies and weekend travels. !
